Negative energetic cords are formed when we have relationships that leave us feeling unfulfilled, disappointed, anxious, fearful, vengeful or unable to let go of certain thought patterns. This can occur between parents and children, spouses, close friends, boss and co-worker or a guru and his followers The memory of the event is stored in the heart centre of two individuals as well as the solar plexus chakra, which causes them to feel bound, obligated or trapped into remaining loyal to another person emotionally, mentally and spiritually. Sometimes a very harmful dependency may develop. A person loses their self of identity and purpose. Born out of fear, manipulation or no longer being sovereign, a person may find they are unable to see clearly the truth of what is occurring.
If a spouse constantly yells, demands, commands and has high expectations of the other spouse, that spouse may develop a feeling of inferiority; may blame oneself for the behaviour and may retain feelings of guilt. This negativity has to go somewhere so it becomes stored in the very cells of the individual which feeds into the energy cord between the two individuals and remains there as a negative memory imprint. Even after a divorce or separation, the connection that was made energetically between the two parties remains. A trigger may bring that memory to the surface in another relationship whereby a feeling of not ever measuring up may surface. If a man leaves his girlfriend because she was cheating on him, he may develop mistrust in future relationships around fidelity, loyalty and long-term commitment. The same can be said for the parent who constantly told a child how stupid he is, how ugly, short, fat, etc.
